Description: We are looking for a passionate and detail‑oriented Junior Mechanical Engineer with strong skills in CAD modelling, GD&T, engineering drawings, and vendor coordination. This role is ideal for candidates with 0–2 years of experience who are eager to apply their technical knowledge in a practical, fast‑paced engineering environment.
Responsibilities:
- Own the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies using Fusion 360.
- Create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models following engineering and GD&T standards.
- Perform reverse engineering of existing parts and develop clean, manufacturable CAD models.
- Lead prototyping activities, including design updates, fit checks, and iterations.
- Document all designs, revisions, and BOMs clearly and consistently.
- Identify and evaluate vendors for CNC machining, fabrication, and other mechanical processes.
- Select vendors based on capability, tolerances, quality, and lead time, and coordinate directly with them for quotations and technical discussions.
- Manage procurement and track fabrication progress to ensure on‑time delivery of parts.
- Support basic testing and validation by preparing components and fixtures.
Required Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, tolerances, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in at least one CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CATIA, Creo, Siemens NX).
- Basic knowledge of GD&T and ability to create clear engineering drawings.
- Ability to prepare clear engineering documentation, test reports, and design summaries.
- Good communication and coordination skills for interacting with vendors and suppliers.
- Strong problem‑solving ability and attention to detail.
- Eagerness to learn, take ownership, and work in a dynamic, fast‑paced startup environment with a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualification:
- 1–2 years of experience or internship in CAD modelling, mechanical design, or prototyping.
- Good understanding of GD&T, tolerances, and engineering drawings.
- Basic knowledge of CNC/VMC machining, manufacturability constraints, and fabrication processes.
- Ability to evaluate machining vendors based on capability, tolerances, and quality.
- Hands-on experience with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) for reverse engineering.
- Exposure to vendor coordination, quotations, and tracking part fabrication.
- Familiarity with FEA or basic simulation tools is a plus
