We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative Electrochemistry Research Scientist specializing in Electrocatalysts and MEA (Membrane Electrode Assembly)/CCS (Catalyst Coated Substrate) development to join our cutting-edge research and development team. In this role, you will focus on the design, synthesis, characterization, and testing of electrocatalysts and MEA/CCSs for use in our advanced water electrolyser system. Your work will be crucial in developing high-performance, and cost-effective components that are vital to enhancing the efficiency and durability of our technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical
- Study the impact of different electrocatalyst materials that enhance the activity, stability and selectivity for electrochemical reactions, such as oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and hydrogen evolution reaction (HER).
- Employ advanced synthesis techniques, including wet chemistry, thermal treatments, and nanomaterial engineering to understand and evaluate the performance of MEA/CCS
- Conduct electrochemical characterization (e.g., cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, chronoamperometry) to assess the performance and durability of the electrocatalysts under various operating conditions.
- Analyse data to identify key factors influencing electrocatalyst performance and use this information to guide further optimization.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of experiments and results, and prepare technical reports, presentations, and publications to communicate findings to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in electrocatalysis and electrochemistry, and contribute to the continuous improvement of research methodologies and technologies.
Qualification:
Education
- PhD in Electrochemistry, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field with a strong focus on electrocatalyst

- Proven experience (academic/industrial) in the synthesis, characterization, and testing of electrocatalysts, ideally with a focus on applications in water splitting
- Strong background in electrochemical techniques and surface science, with hands-on experience in operating and maintaining relevant laboratory equipment.
